Matthews W. Gwynn, M.D.
Dr. Gwynn brings 20 years of experience as a Neurology practitioner. He is Director and Founder of the Stroke Center of Northside Hospital and recent Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Gwynn is a partner in Atlanta Neurology, P.C.; Co-Medical Director of Neurotrials Research, Inc.; the Chief of Neurology at St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta; and served as the president of the Medical Association of Atlanta 2010-2011.
A graduate of the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia Medical School, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham returning to the University of Virginia for his Neurology residency. Lisa H. Johnston, M.D.
Lisa H. Johnston brings 14 years of experience as a Neurology practitioner. After receiving her BA and MD degrees at Brown University, she completed her initial post graduate training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Trained in Neurology at Emory University Hospital, she remained there to gain expertise in neuromuscular disorders and sleep medicine through fellowship training. A partner in Atlanta Neurology, P.C. she is also the Medical Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Northside Hospital. She is actively involved in educating the public as well as healthcare professionals in Georgia and nationwide about the importance of identifying and treating sleep disorders. She is board certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine.
James M. Kiely, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Kiely brings 13 years of experience as a Neurology practitioner. He is a partner in Atlanta Neurology, P.C. and Medical Director of the Neurophysiology Departments at Northside Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta.
Dr. Kiely is a member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia and a past Chair of their Professional Advisory Board. After graduating with Honors from the University of Florida, he received a M.D. from Emory University and earned a Ph.D. from the Emory Department of Pharmacology for a thesis on nervous system control of blood pressure.
He completed a Neurology residency at the University of Virginia, with fellowship training in Epilepsy and Intensive Monitoring. During this tenure, he was the recipient of national awards for epilepsy research. Dr. Kiely is Board-certified in Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology. He was recently named one of America's Top Doctors by US News and World Report.
Keith A. Sanders, M.D.
Dr. Sanders brings 19 years of experience as a Neurology practitioner. He is Director and Founder of the Stroke Center of St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta and former Chairman of the Ethics Resource Committee. He is a partner in Atlanta Neurology, P.C.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Sanders graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, attended medical school at Emory University and completed his Neurology residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
He completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disease at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Sanders is Board-certified in Neurology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and has subspecialty certification in Vascular Neurology.
